210 Days! I can tell already that they are going to go by fast. If you didn't know already, i would say 95% of the people who read this, i am a cancer survivor. Seven years this June. A brain tumor at 15 isn't something I would recommend for anyone let alone myself. When we looked at the scans after surgery and all there was was a round "swishy " spot as my mom called it. Doctors said it was an Astrocytoma Brain Tumor.
And today, I am cancer free. A childhood cancer survivor. However, the tumor and surgery did come with its "leftovers". I now have a new friend that will probably stick with me for life. I am a 6 year epileptic. In the beginning it was a constant battle. The surgery was in June of 2004 and by October 2004 the Seizures had began. I was taken out of school in December 2004 because we could not get them under control. If i were to have a seizure at school, I could potentially harm myself or others. So, my parents opted for me to be placed into a home bound program. After numerous trips back and forth to Vanderbilt that Winter, i finally went back to school the follow February. Soon after that, Allen and I met. It wasn't weird between us. He looked passed the cancer and the epilepsy to who i was on the inside.
Well today, my mom and I went to the Neurologist. No seizures for almost two years! What a blessing!
Are things downhill from here? Not a chance. School started yesterday and I am glad I got all the wedding stuff done that I did. Looking at the course load, I am going to be slammed.
